While this is my first JCC Professional Conference it has been a riveting experience . I have found colleagues who think similarly to me, colleagues who think differently and content that is challenging to my ideas and modes of thinking. I was especially inspired by the session on Marketing to Milleniall Moms. Once I go over the very candid and humorous accent of Mr. Rowland, I was awestruck by the information presented to us. I was appreciative of the immediacy of the applicability of the information. I was also inspired by the concise nature of the presentation. What I found is that it left me thinking of the stagnant Kinetic energy of our JCC members that is sitting there, waiting to be harnessed and used for our collective growth. The ability to harness their time, and enable them to market to “people like me” who share values, share experiences and share life stories, will begin to reverberate in the marketplace for our benefit. The analogy used of a website as the “home” and the invitation of strangers into your home, vs. the open source nature of twitter was particularly striking. What I have found here at the #jccpc is that there is a high level of interest in social media, but a low level of aptitude. This is what I think that challenge is for Chris Strom and his team as the JCCA shepards us into the near future.
