I’m in Orlando at the North American JCC Seminar and the first day was great. I met a lot of folks I’ll want to network with; had a fantastic presentation on how to hire superstar staff (not that my current staff isn’t all superstars)’; and heard a great keynote by Alan Finkelstein. I’m really looking forward to learning more over the next two and a half days. As a Branch Director, there is an enormous range of issues I wrestle with every day and I hope I’ll learn more and get more great ideas about how to deal with them. The bonus is I’m in sunny Orlando, where it’s 85 degrees. Of course, with the busy schedule, there’a no time to lounge poolside. The facility is terrific, rooms are nice and so far have had a couple of terrific meals. Last night I walked across the street for dinner at the Funky Monkey Wine Bar. Great, locally owned restaurants. Great wine selection (duh), great service, great food. As for the Seminar, I hope my whole staff can make this trip.
