Day two of the conference has come to an end. I’m disappointed that I didn’t take home one of the raffle prizes and I’m wondering how Helen will get that ab coaster she just won home but more importantly I’m thinking about all the great information I’ve gathered so far and how I will apply it at my JCC. We’ve got plenty of millennial moms who trust people like themselves and we need to give a voice to while we find a way to facilitate her need for instant gratification. In the social media session I learned some additional ways to connect with members and in the branding session I was surprised to find out that members involved in 1.9% of activities won’t renew while members who participate in 2.7% will! All the more reason to focus on departments working together to share information and cross promote services — the topic of an upcoming department retreat. One other good take away today was discovering through the benchmark study the importance of informal conversations with members — We should be talking to them half of the time they are in the building! Lot’s of great information, a bunch of new friends and maybe I’ll win an iPad!
