You’ll notice that everyone will have a unique QR code on their name badge this year. Scanning QR (Quick Response) codes enable mobile phones with cameras to access web content or receive text based messages. Scanning the QR codes on the Professional Conferences names badges will lead you to the badge owner’s virtual business card.
While viewing a participants virtual business card, you can easily send an email request to receive the participants contact info sent to you via email.
Visit mobile-barcodes.com, select your phone’s manufacturer from the list of supported mobile phones on the right and find a QR code reader that you can use on your mobile device. We suggest RedLaser for iPhone and Android users or NeoReader for BlackBerry users.
If you are having trouble scanning the actual code, try to tilt the angle of your phone and badge to minimize glare. If glare isn’t an issue, slowly moving your phone closer or away from the badge. This will help focus the phone focus and scan the code.
If all else fails, head over to http://jcca.me and select a conference attendee from the drop down menu to view their virtual business card.
